Beautiful summer weather

sunny 82 °F

It was a nice day to be alive! Saturday is Market Day in downtown St. Paul. There are literally dozens of vendors set up in a plaza near Union Station, the transportation hub for city busses, freight trains, AmTrak, and the Twin Cities light rail system. The minor league baseball park is located in this busy area, also. We strolled around the market, bought some vegetables and then had 'brunch' of a bagel which we divided. We were due to return to the Mall of America for the 4:05 afternoon group performance of Zoe's dance group so we returned home to Pat's condo for a couple of hours. The performance the kids gave was wonderful resulting in a platinum award for the group. Everyone was excited, of course! Afterward, we left and stopped at a French restaurant, 'Salut', in the hill district of St. Paul on Grand Ave. where all the old mansions are located. Even at 7:30 we had to wait for a table, and as we left at 8:45 people were still coming in for dinner. We sat in the crowded patio enjoying the beautiful setting, good wine, and a couple of appetizers. It made for a perfect finish to a very nice day. Rain is predicted for tomorrow.
